The show captures the very real day-to-day of trying to balance a job and a personal life, and the reliance on dating apps for connections. The journey into the AI driven app itself provides an amusing retreat from reality and offers enough explanation so that the audience does not get lost in any technicalities. While today’s twenty- and thirty-somethings in NYC might not have avatars that go on dates for them, we do experience many of the emotions shown in the play. ‘Virtually Ours’ and the power of AI have created a new, unique way of matchmaking

Need a guy? A girl? A sub? A temp? A try-out?

Little Mother is telling you there’s now a new dating app that meets live theater.

New musical “Virtually Ours” is an innovative, tech-infused, rom-com musical thing. Part love story, part social experiment, it lets patrons buy their own website ticket and post online that they’re looking for love — or some reasonable facsimile temp.

A dating app meets live theater! It’s an AI thing. And works without Elon Musk. Caution: Doing anything in the aisles is not allowed. We’re talking a classy operation.

The premiere’s March 3 at 7 p.m., part of Spark Theatre Festival (312 W. 36th St., third floor). You expected maybe Radio City Music Hall?! It explores the highs, lows, ins and outs, ups and downs and unexpected twists of AI-driven matchmaking. Theatergoers get a chance to step or lie or wriggle in the happening themselves.

The experience does not come with a candy bar. If you’re grabbing what you want, just figure the Hershey bar as an extra cost.

And after the final bow? Hey, you might walk away with more than a great night — early afternoon/snowy weekend — as a result. Gents, pay attention. Broadway may now be for the broads.
